Adele R. Cross, 90, of Manor Court, Peru died April 11, 2010, in Manor Court. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Faith Bible Fellowship Church, Troy Grove, with the Revs. Bill Ultch and Sam Crabtree officiating. Burial will be at a later date in St. Cloud, Minn. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Saturday in the church. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota is in charge of arrangements. She was born April 28, 1919, in Peru to William and Rose (Schuster) Joop. She married Sam W. Crabtree on March 13, 1942. He died July 7, 1978. She later married Curtis Cross on Nov. 28, 1986. She is survived by her husband, Curtis of Peru; three daughters, Floy (Duane) Omark of Franklin, Tenn., Jean (Blain) Turner of Webster, Wis., and Nancy (David) Gustafson of St. Paul, Minn.; four sons, the Rev. Sam (Vicki) Crabtree of Minneapolis, Minn., Thomas Crabtree of LaGrande, Ore., Jon (Deb) Crabtree of Gillette, Wyo., and Peter (Jana) Crabtree of Mundelein; two stepchildren, Mary Jane (Bruce) Cross-Kuhl of Aurora and John (Catherine) Cross of Mendota; 24 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren. In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. Memorials may be directed to The Seed Co., an affiliate of Wycliffe Bible Translators, or Abigail Women's Clinic in Mendota.
