Agatha R. Stanard, 90, of Oregon, Ill., formerly of LaMoille, died Nov. 21, 2010, in Ogle County Hospice Serenity House, Oregon. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church, LaMoille, with the Rev. Jerry Graham officiating. Burial will be at Greenfield Cemetery, LaMoille. Visitation is one hour prior to services in the church on Saturday. Arrangements were by Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. She was born March 9, 1920, in Newton, Iowa, to George and Gladys (Meeker) Baxter. She married Ralph "Doc" Stanard on April 28, 1939, in Davenport, Iowa. She and her husband operated Stanard's Confectionery Store in LaMoille for 25 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, LaMoille. She is survived by two sons, Robert (Drucilla) Stanard of Granville and Randy (Susan) Stanard of Las Vegas, Nev.; three daughters, Linda (David) Allison of DeKalb, Carole (Terry) James of Dixon and Rosemary (Randy) Wallace of Walnut; nine grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Cleora Park of Spring Lake, Mich. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, on May 13, 2001; one sister, Junella Baxter; and three grandchildren. Memorials may be directed to Ogle County Hospice, Oregon.
