Albert W. Engel, 90, of
Mendota died Aug. 25,
2014, in Heritage Health,
Mendota.
Funeral services will be at
11 a.m. Saturday in Merritt
Funeral Home, Mendota
with the Rev. Michael Morrell
officiating. Burial will
be at St. John's Lutheran
Cemetery, Mendota with
military rites by VFW Post
4079, Mendota.
Visitation will be one
hour prior to services Saturday
in the funeral home.
Mr. Engel was born Aug.
24, 1924, in West Brooklyn
to Albert and Dora (Langlitz)
Engel. He married
Dorothy Carlisle on Dec. 1,
1951 in Mendota.
He was a member of First
Presbyterian Church, Mendota.
He was employed as
a mechanic by Reeser Farm
Implement, Forrester Implement
and Holland & Sons,
all in Mendota before his
retirement.
He served with the U.S.
Army during World War II.
He is survived by two
sons, Alan (Michele) Engel
of Mendota and Dale Engel
of Chicago; two daughters,
Terry (William) Arjes of
Mendota and Betty Sue
Engel of Denham Springs.
La.; eight grandchildren and
six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death
by his wife on Sept. 2, 2008,
three sisters and four brothers.
Memorials may be directed
to American Cancer
Society or the donor's
choice.
