Obituary
Albert John Untz, 78, of LaMoille died Dec. 14, 2009, in St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, with the Rev. Paul Meismer officiating. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Untz was born Aug. 15, 1931, in Compton to George and Helen Untz. He married Darlene Bonnell on Feb. 19, 1955, in Sublette. He served with the U.S. Army 11th Airborne. He and
his son, Bruce owned Untz Tractor and Trailer Repair in Peru for 27 years. He attended St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Arlington, and was a member of Mendota Moose Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Darlene of LaMoille; two sons, Bruce Untz of La Salle and Keith (Vickie) Untz of Amboy; three grandchildren, Chris (Rachel) Untz of Franklin Grove, Danielle Untz of La Salle and Jeremy Untz of La Salle; one great-grandchild, Ian Untz of Franklin Grove; two brothers, Leo (Marge) Untz of Springfield, Mo., and Robert (Pauline) Untz of Hanna City; one sister, Bernice (Robert) Oliver of Arizona City, Ariz.; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Memorials may be directed to LaMoille Ambulance Service, American Cancer Society or the donor's choice.
