Alberta Katthoefer, 82, of Mendota died Jan. 19, 2010, in Mendota Lutheran Home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, with the Rev. Fredi Gomez Torres officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. There will be no visitation. She was born July 20, 1927, in Mendota to Peter J. and Minnie (Walter) Walzer. She married William Katthoefer on Oct. 25, 1952, in Mendota. She attended Holy Cross School and Mendota High School. She also attended Holy Cross Church, was a member of Mendota Community Hospital Auxiliary where she worked in the gift shop, and was active with Nightengale's Closet in Mendota. She was employed by General Telephone Co. She is survived by cousins and close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband in January 1984 and one brother. Memorials may be directed to Holy Cross School.
