Obituary
Alberta Rose Smith, 87, of Mendota passed away August 8, 2017 in her home.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m., in the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Rev. Kent Svendsen officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-7 p.m., in the funeral home.
Alberta was born January 20, 1930 in Mendota to Edward and Rose (Nickel) Olsen. She married Herman Smith August 31, 1951 in Mendota.
Alberta was a homemaker and enjoyed cleaning houses and visiting with people. She loved to donate to several different charities and organizations.
She is survived by three sons Michael E. (Kim) Smith and Charles L. (Gerri) Smith both of Mendota and Randy (Tamara Gibson) Smith of Arlington; two sisters Mildred Stamberger and June (Don) Kofoid both of Mendota; grandchildren; great grandchildren; great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1996, son Jody in 2013, three brothers Stanley Olsen, Harold Olsen and Lester Olsen in infancy, three sisters Ruth Botts, Mae Clark and Lucille Olsen.
