Alice J. Nemecek, 78, of Paw Paw died Aug. 15, 2012, in
her residence.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First United
Methodist Church, Mendota with the Rev. Michael Morrell
officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota.
Visitation is 2-4 p.m. Sunday in the church. Arrangements
were provided by Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.
Mrs. Nemecek was born Nov. 1, 1933, in Burlington, Iowa,
to Walter and Catherine (Hemphill) Duval. She married
Richard Nemecek on Dec. 26, 1953, in Downer's Grove.
She is survived by her husband, Richard of Paw Paw; two
daughters, Diane (Jerry) Denault of Mendota and Dawn (Fred
Menke) Awe of DeKalb; two granddaughters, Caroline Awe
and Michaela Denault; two brothers, Morris and Walter Duval,
both of Burlington, Iowa; and three sisters, Sara DeLady of
Maine, Helen (Jerry) Jack of Wapello, Iowa, and Mary Ives of
Burlington, Iowa. She was preceded in death by three brothers.
