Alta Faye Moran, 84, of Mendota died April 16, 2009, in Mendota Community Hospital. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Restland Cemetery, Mendota, with Deacon Vincent Slomian officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements were provided by Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. She was born Dec. 29, 1924, in Jacksonville, Ill., to  Loy and Dolly (Thompson) Whitaker. She was employed by United Airlines in Elk Grove Village for 22 years in their accounting department and management team before her retirement. She is survived by two sons, John Moran of Mendota and Patrick (Malli) Moran of Vacaville, Calif.; two grandchildren; and one sister, Marjorie Dawdy of Mendota. She was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters. Memorials may be directed to the donor's choice.
