Obituary
Alvin K. Near, 73, of Mendota died September 28th in Rockford Memorial Hospital following a single motorcycle accident. Private family only services will be held Saturday at 10:00a.m., in the Merrit Funeral Home. There will be no visitation. Cremation rites were accorded.
Alvin was born March 30, 1941 in Mendota to Kenneth and Elnora (Fahler) Near. He was a self employed farmer and truck driver. He served in the United States Air Force and was a graduate of Mendota High School in 1960. He enjoyed motorcycling and fishing.
He is survived by three sons, Brian (Jackie) Near of Mendota, Brady Near of Mendota and Bradley (Monica) Near of Mendota; two grandchildren Kylie and Karly; and one brother Aaron (Shirley) Near of Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
