Amy Lynn Snuffin, 55, of Spring Valley, passed away June 9, 2022 at her residence.

There will be a private family service held at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Rev. Mary Bohall officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Amy was born January 19, 1967 in Ottawa and adopted by Sam and Betty (England) Snuffin.

She is survived by her mother Betty (Jim Cosby) of Mendota; her sister Susan (Carl) Ambler of Mendota; her brother Mike (Amy O'Malley) Snuffin of Barrington; nieces Mariah (Dylan Norton), Hannah and Kaylee and a great nephew Jameson.

She was preceded in death by her father Sam Snuffin, a great niece Emma and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Amy grew up in Mendota and graduated from Mendota High School in 1985 where she graduated with perfect attendance. She worked at Mendota Lutheran Home for several years and enjoyed her co-workers and the residents. She loved pets and always seemed to have a cat or dog as a companion. Amy also had a great memory and loved to share her "remember when" stories. She loved music and was a huge fan of the band KISS. She knew the names of all the members of her favorite rock bands and loved to read about them. Amy also loved Christmas music and could listen to it any time of the year. She was usually a quiet, shy person who loved a simple life. She didn't possess much, but she was happy with what she had.

Memorials may be directed to the family or Illinois Valley Animal Rescue.
