Andrew Jay Wagner, 58, of Mendota, passed away July 14, 2022 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford.

Andrew was born January 7, 1964 in Mendota to Fred P. Wagner and Patricia Wagner.

Andrew graduated from Mendota High School in 1982. He was a United States Navy veteran  Senior Chief serving in the Persian Gulf. He worked in telecommunications for many years at Cross Com International. He was a member of Mendota VFW Post 4079.

Mr. Wagner is survived by his partner, Jo-Lynn Truckenbrod; his children Andrew (Taisha) Wagner of Toledo, Ohio, Lacey (Anthony) Frenk of Cheney, Washington, Miles Truckenbrod of Schaumburg and Chelsi Truckenbrod of Austin, Texas; brother Fred (Janice) Wagner of Freeport; sisters Margaret (Daniel) Martinkus of Princeton and Linda (Bill) Dreiling of Springfield, Missouri and numerous nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Kevin Wagner and his granddaughter Piper Frenk.

It was Andrew's wishes to be cremated and to be returned to the sea at a later date. There will be no services. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota is assisting the family.
