Anna E. Chandler, 88, of 1302 Illinois Ave., Mendota, died Oct. 13, 2007, in her home. Services will be at noon Tuesday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, with the Rev. Maryann Meador officiating. Burial will be at Restland Memorial Gardens, Mendota. Visitation is one hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home. She was born Oct. 23, 1918, in Adair to Jesse and Magdelena (Heffner) Scudder. She married Ray Chandler on Jan. 22, 1938, in Memphis, Mo. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mendota, and Elks Lodge 1212. She worked at Conco, Inc., and was a waitress at Sam?s Steak House. Mrs. Chandler is survived by one son, Jim Chandler of Mendota; two daughters, Connie (Michael) McLaughlin of Decatur and Patty (Stan) Meloy of Earlville; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2000 and one sister. Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church or St. Margaret?s Hospice.
