Arthur Reppin, 78, of Mendota died Feb. 7, 2011, in his residence. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, with the Rev. Michael Morrell officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota, with military rites by VFW Post 4070. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Mr. Reppin was born Aug. 23, 1932, in Mendota to Arthur and Ruth (Jones) Reppin. He married Jean Phillips on March 10, 1957, in Mendota. He served in the Korean War with the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of VFW Post 4079 and KayCee Club in Mendota. He was a 1951 graduate of Mendota High School. He worked as a general carpenter with Bill Zolper and Dean Bauer before his retirement. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Tim (Ashley) Reppin of Mendota and Les Reppin of Oglesby; one daughter, Pam (Kenny) Schultz of Mohave Valley, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Clarence (Helen) Reppin of Peru; and one sister, Carolyn Hetrick of Lostant. He was preceded in death by one brother, William; and two sisters, Clara and Dorothy. Memorials may be directed to the family.
