Audrey E. Lawrence, 74, of Mendota died July 3, 2009, in her home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. John's Lutheran Church, Mendota, with the Rev. Dale Peterson officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. She was born Feb. 26, 1935, in Clarion Township to Walter and Ada E. (Wixom) Truckenbrod. She married Lloyd Lawrence on Feb. 28, 1954, in Mendota. She was employed as the social editor at the Mendota Reporter for many years before her retirement. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Mendota, and was a former Sunday school teacher. She was a former member of the Business and Professional Women's Club and a member of Graves-Hume Library board of directors in Mendota. She was active with Mendota Museum and Historical Society. She is survived by one daughter, LuAnne Cutrano of Mendota; four grandchildren, Joy, Tony, Frank and Amanda; one great-grandchild; one sister, Annette Truckenbrod of Mendota; and two stepsisters, Norma (Robert) Fitch of Mendota and Carol (Dave) Layshon of Westport, Conn. She was preceded in death by her husband on Nov. 16, 1989, and one son, Jeff. Memorials may be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church or Nightengale's Closet.
