Barb Ellen Hild, 64, of Arlington died April 22, 2018 at St. Margaret's Hospital, Spring Valley.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday in St. Patrick Catholic Church, Arlington with Rev. Patrick Fixsen officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Visitation from 5-8 p.m., Friday in the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.

Barb was born December 30, 1953 in LaSalle to Glenn and Gladys (Gabrielson) Cogdal. She married John Bryan Hild on December 4, 1971 in St. Patrick's Church, Arlington.

She was a graduate of LaMoille High School. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. She also enjoyed spending winters in Okeechobee, Florida with her husband and friends. Barb enjoyed being around people and never met a stranger.

She is survived by her husband, John of Arlington; two daughters, Sherry Harris of Henderson, Nevada and Melissa (Steve) Norris of Washington; grandchildren, Tyler, Elle, Ryan and Eli Harris, Rylan and Kainon McQueary, Isabella and Adeline Norris; brothers, Richard (Patty) Cogdal of Florida, Roger (Donna Monroe) Cogdal of LaMoille, Gary (Joan) Cogdal of Channahon; sisters, Sharon (Don) Piller of Mendota, Janice Wamhoff of Princeton and Deb Cogdal of Texas.

She was preceded by her parents and two brothers, Duane and Norman Cogdal.
