Barbara L. Forrester, 74, formerly of Mendota, IL passed away November 5, at the Lund Home Hospice Center, Gilbert, AZ. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Pastor William Ultch officiating a service at 12:30p.m.
Barbara was born January 2, 1942 in Hattiesburg, MS. to Anthony and Kate Bairefield. She married Melvin D. Forrester November 25, 1961 in Mobile, AL. She was a homemaker and later in life managed the SoFro Fabric Store and also was a department manager at Bergners Department Store in Peru. She enjoyed going to lunches with her friends, quilting, reading and watching mystery movies.
She is survived by her husband Melvin D. Forrester of Mesa, AZ; two sons Fred Forrester of Shorewood, IL and Joe Forrester of Plainfield, IL; two daughters Michelle (Dave) Suslee of Nokomis, IL and Sarah Liz (Dave) Castronova of Minooka, IL; six grandchildren Cody Forrester, Sarah Forrester, Luke Forrester, Emily Suslee, Olivia Suslee and Alexis Forrester; and two great grandchildren Maddox Forrester and Jett Forrester. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials may be directed to the family.
