Barbara Henderson, 89, of Mendota Lutheran Home died Jan. 22, 2009, in Mendota Community Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Zion United Methodist Church, Mendota, with the Rev. Gail Brandner officiating. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to services Monday in the church. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, provided arrangements. She was born July 15, 1919, in Duluth, Minn., to Ruben and Edna (Schaller) Johnson. She married Thomas W. Henderson on July 1, 1943. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church. She had traveled to many different countries around the world with her husband when he was a colonel in the U.S. Air Force and past-president of Air Force Association. She is survived by two sisters, Lois Jones of Mendota and Carol Getts of Duluth, Minn; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, one sister and one brother.
