On July 19, 2023, Barbara Jean Schumacher passed unexpectedly at her home in La Salle, IL. She was 59.

Barb was born January 16, 1964 to Richard and Donna (Park) Roman in Mendota, IL and was welcomed home by older sister, Rose. She graduated from Mendota High School in 1982 and worked as an administrator for various companies throughout her career.

She married Brad Schumacher and together they had two children, Brooke Schumacher of Rockford, IL and Brandon Schumacher of La Moille, IL.

Survivors include her children and their father, her sister Rose (Terry) Wiesbrock of Fox Lake, WI, nephew Brad (Brenda) Grothen of Mendota, IL, and beloved dog, Mikey.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Donna in 2022 and her father Richard in 1977.

She leaves behind a love for animals she instilled in her son, an impeccable sense of humor instilled in her daughter, and a bond between the two like none other. Mom, your loss is immeasurable but "your love amazes me."

Funeral services will be Monday, July 24, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Rev. Mary Bohall officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 p.m. in the funeral home.
