Barbara A. Walzer, 87, of Mendota passed away January 26, 2024 at Liberty Village of Princeton. She was born April 6, 1936 to Charles and Cecilia (Sondgeroth) Myers in Sublette.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Church in Mendota with Father Jeff Windy officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery in Mendota. A visitation will be held Friday, February 2, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. with a rosary at 4:30 p.m. at the Merritt Funeral Home in Mendota.
Ms. Walzer married Paul Walzer on April 26, 1952 at Holy Cross Church in Mendota. She worked at the Prestons Clothing store in Mendota, Sports and Stuff in Mendota and the Mendota Civic Center. Over the years, Barb enjoyed spending time with her family whether it being at their cabin in Wisconsin or trips in their motor home. She enjoyed going on cruises, cooking, baking (especially pies), crocheting and going to craft shows. At the age of 63 she received her GED from IVCC and was extremely proud of that accomplishment.
She is survived by her three sons, Gary Walzer of LaMoille, Robert Walzer and David (Nancy) Walzer both of Mendota. Her seven grandchildren, Eric Walzer, Tera Frazer, Trisha Walzer, Tiffany (Roberto) Martinez, Daniel (Tania), Andrew and Brian Walzer, one step grandchild, Emily (Justin) Kelly, Fourteen great-grandchildren, two step-great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, her brother-in-law, Raymond Henkel and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Cecilia, her husband, Paul Walzer, brothers and sisters, Clement, Roger, Rolland Myers, Marilyn Henkel, her grandsons, Toby and Timothy Walzer and her daughter in law Traci (Williams) Walzer.
