Rev. Tom Otto officiating.
Burial will be at Holy Cross
Cemetery, Mendota.
Visitation is 2-5 p.m.
Sunday in Merritt Funeral
Home, Mendota.
He was born Nov. 12,
1924, in Mendota to Fred
and Grace (Parks) Brown.
He married Marian Maloy on
Jan. 3, 1948, in Holy Cross
Church, Mendota.
He graduated from
Mendota High School in 1942
and LPO Junior College in
1947. He served as a flight
engineer with the U.S. Navy
from 1943-46 and was stationed
in
the Pacific
for 23
months.
He owned
and operated
Fred
Brown and
Sons as a
building
contractor and
developer
of Mendota Lake Subdvision
prior to his retirement in 1989.
He was a member of Holy
Cross Church, a life member
of Mendota Elks Lodge
1212, charter member of the
Mendota VFW Post 4079
and member of the Mendota
American Legion. He was a
past member of the Mendota
Golf Club and served at one
time with Mendota Area
Chamber of Commerce.
He is survived by his wife Marian of Mendota; one
daughter, Susan (Alan) Urso
of Earlville; two grandchildren,
Daniel (Susan) Bohn
of Rockton and Amy Bohn
of Atlanta, Ga.; two greatgrandsons,
Adam and Casey
Bohn; one sister, Marjean
(Louis) Lovgren of LaMoille;
and one brother-in-law, Rev.
Dale Maloy of Mendota.
He was preceded in death
by one brother, Arthur Brown,
a sergeant in the U.S. Army
Air Force who was killed in
service to his country on July
24, 1944.
