Obituary
Bernard "Rocky" James Rockwood, 84, of Mendota passed away January 12, 2018 at Heritage Health, Mendota.
Per his wishes there will be no funeral services. Burial will be private.
Bernard was born July 20, 1933 in Lee Center to Russell James and Marie (Shrock) Rockwood. He married Carol Flicker January 28, 1971.
He was a CNC operator and worked for Conco's and Motor Wheel in Mendota and retired from Pratt Brothers in Dixon. He was a member of Mendota Moose Lodge. He had his single engine pilots license and enjoyed flying. He loved motorcycling and camping. He was a wonderful and devoted grandfather to his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife Carol of Mendota; four sons Steve and Rick Rockwood both of Dixon, Steve Pointer of Marseilles and Lance Pointer of Streator; three daughters Cindy Veith of Mendota, Kay Roda of Peru and Kathy Freeman of Dixon; a sister Sandy Dressden of Las Vegas; 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
He was preceded by his parents, a daughter Delores Bates and a sister Donna.
