Betty J. Kaufman, 84, of Mendota Lutheran Home died April 30, 2011, in the home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, with the Rev. Dale Peterson officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation is one hour prior to services Wednesday in the funeral home. She was born Aug. 13, 1926, in Mendota to Peter and Emma (Arndt) Kaufman. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Mendota. She worked as a sales clerk at Westerman's Clothing Store, Mendota, and in the kitchen at the Mendota Lutheran Home. She is survived by one sister, Anna Margaret Jones of Mendota; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Arthur and John Kaufman, and one sister, Marie Nurnberg.
