Beulah "Bea" Mae Lewis, 91, of Stonecroft Manor, Mendota passed away Dec.
24, 2013.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in St. John's Lutheran Church,
Mendota, with the Rev. Dale Peterson officiating. Burial will be at Restland
Cemetery, Mendota.
Visitation is two hours prior to services Friday in the
church. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota provided the
arrangements.
Beulah was born March 25, 1922, in Ferguson, Ky., to
Samuel and Nettie (Neely) Brown. She married Delmer
Lewis on Sept. 6, 1947, in Joliet.
Beulah graduated from high school in Mill Springs, Ky., in
1940. She worked at Elgin Watch Co. for seven years before
her marriage. She was then employed at Sears, Roebuck and
Co. in Mendota for 20 years, 1964-84. She also was a volunteer
at Mendota Child Development Center. Beulah was a
longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Mendota.
She is survived by one son, Jim (Denise) Lewis; two daughters, Kathy
(Sandy) Cain and Joyce (Curt) Frahm; six grandchildren, Melissa Mickley,
Brian Lewis, Craig Lewis, Maj. Matthew (Kyle) Cain, Dr. Marcie Cain and
James Lewis; and four great-grandchildren, Gage Mickley, Cali Mickley,
Ethan Cain and Owen Cain.
Beulah was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 1, 1991; and one
son, Michael, on April 21, 1999.

Illinois Valley Hospice.
