Brenda Rose Peterson, 76, of La Salle, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home. She was born February 17, 1950, in Sandwich, Illinois, the daughter of Robert Ward Hall and Rhoda Beatrice (Williamson) Hoadley. She was first married to Denver Smith on July 6, 1968, in Mendota, Illinois. He preceded her in death on March 11, 1988. She later married Thomas Peterson on November 5, 1988, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Thomas Peterson; her daughter, Lisa Donnelly of Mendota; her son, Chris (Krista) Peterson of Oregon, Illinois; two grandchildren, Jaxson Donnelly and Gavin Huffaker; five siblings, James Hall of Weston, Wisconsin, Sharon (Don) Hanson of Ohio, Illinois, Ricky (Tammy) Hoadley of Shelbyville, Illinois, Wesley (Lori) Hoadley of DeKalb, Illinois, and William Hoadley, Jr. of Paw Paw, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Robin Rose Redman (January 8, 1967); her first husband, Denver Smith; one sister, Judy Ketcham; and three brothers, Robert Hall, Raymond Hall, and Arland Hall (in infancy).

Public visitation will be held Sunday, February 22, 2026, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Horner-Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, Illinois. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Horner-Merritt Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Precinct Cemetery, Earlville, Illinois.
