Carl F. Biederstedt, 74, of Sublette died September 20, 2017 at his residence.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday in the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Pastor Steve Adamson officiating. Burial will be in Greenfield  Cemetery, LaMoille at a later date. Visitation will be from 4:30-7 p.m., Monday in the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.

Carl was born May 18, 1943 in Philadelphia, PA to Carl and Rosalia (Kuebel) Biederstedt. He married Julie Sporleder on November 28, 1971 in the Union Church, Sublette.

He was a 1961 graduate of Mendota High School. He was a member of the Sublette Union Church and a active member and Trustee of the church until it closed in 2015. He was attending the Faith Assembly of God Church in Peru. He served with the U.S. Army from 1965 until 1967. He was employed by Illinois Frame from 1979 to 2004 and then employed by Woody True Value from 2005 to 2015 in Sublette.

He is survived by his wife, Julie; one daughter, Joanie (Steve) Dinges; one son, Jeff Biederstedt; two brothers, Kent (Kathie) Biederstedt and Harvey (Paula) Biederstedt; three sisters, Charlene Phillps, Lynne Gambrel and Bonnie Biederstedt.

He was preceded by his parents and one sister, Rose Ann Carlson.

Memorials may be directed to Faith Assembly of God or St. Jude's Children Hospital.
