A dedicated family man, Carl celebrated 60 years of a sacred union with his beloved wife, Carolyn Sluder. Together, they nurtured a loving and harmonious home, raising seven children: Carl, Todd, Timothy, Steven, Crystal, Stephanie, and Deborah. The love and values they instilled in their children continue to resonate in the lives of their grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren. Carl's legacy of love, faith, and respect for all of God's creation will forever be cherished and carried forward by his family.

Carl's commitment to service extended beyond his family and faith. He honorably served as a member of the 101st Airborne in the United States Army, embodying the principles of duty, honor, and sacrifice. After his military service, he dedicated himself to a career as a Laborer in the Local 393 Marseilles, where his hard work and dedication left an indelible mark.

In moments of respite, Carl found solace and joy in his chosen pursuits. As an AA sponsor, he offered guidance and compassion to those seeking recovery, shining a light on their path to healing. He found spiritual nourishment in attending crusades, seeking wisdom and inspiration to deepen his faith. Carl also found solace in the serenity of fishing, appreciating the beauty of God's creation. His skilled hands and mechanical acumen were gifts he generously shared with those in need. Above all, Carl treasured the precious moments spent with his beloved family and friends, recognizing the sacredness of human connection.

A celebration of Carl's life will be held at TBD, In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Carolyn Sluder, a testament to the enduring love and devotion that Carl held dear. As we mourn the loss of this remarkable individual, let us remember Carl's enduring legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering faith.
