Carman L. Hampton, 57, of West Brooklyn died April 18, 2012, at his residence. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Mr. Hampton was born Jan. 25, 1955, in Mendota to Charles and Virginia (Trail) Hampton. He married Madelyn Ugolini on June 20, 1992, in Mendota. He was a truck driver with Boelk Trucking for 11 years and was a member of the Mendota Car Club. Survivors are his wife of West Brooklyn; mother, Virginia Hampton of Mendota; five sons, Scott (Amanda) Pike of Crawfordsville, Ind., Chad Hampton and Corrie (Erica) Hampton, both of Lostant, and Richard (Samantha) Lewis and Charles (Shayla) Hampton, both of West Brooklyn; four daughters, Chevelle Hampton of Ottawa, Monica Hampton of Rochester, Minn., Brenda (Dan) Hampton of Mendota and Kim Hampton of Amboy; 20 grandchildren; one sister, LuAnn (Don) Feulner of Dixon; and four brothers, John Hampton of Wichita, Kan., Joe Hampton of Rensselaer, Ind., Doug (Shelley) Hampton of LaMoille and Paul (Sandy) Hampton of Mendota. He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Jim; one nephew, Dougie; and a grandson, Junior. Memorials may be directed to the family.
