Carol Faber Hansen, 81, of Rockford, formerly of Mendota and Rochelle, died March 4, 2012, in Serenity Hospice, Oregon, Ill. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Zion United Methodist Church, Mendota, with the Revs. David Sorrell and Deanna Mede officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation is one hour prior to services Saturday in the church. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota provided the arrangements. She was born Nov. 15, 1930, in Princeton to Glen and Lorena (Erbes) Faber. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, and attended Reynolds Methodist Church, Rochelle and First Church of the Nazarene, Rockford. She was employed as the village clerk in Hillcrest, Vagabond Resort, Meyers Furniture and Hornsby's, all in Rochelle. She is survived by two daughters, Tamara (Stan) North of Pecatonica and Pamela Hansen-Hargan of Albuquerque, N.M.; six grandchildren; one greatgranddaughter; two brothers, Calvin (Beverly) Faber and Fred (Aleta) Faber, both of LaMoille; two sisters-inlaw Marjorie and Velma Faber;and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Stan; two brothers, Willard and Warren Faber; one sister, Lola Zimmerlein; and the father of her children, Keith Hansen. A memorial has been established to Serenity Hospice and Home.
