Obituary
Carol L. Swope, 72, of Mendota passed away August 27, 2017 in Alden Debes Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Rockford.
Memorial services will be Wednesday at 7:00 p.m., in the Merritt Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Foster officiating. Burial will be in Melugen Cemetery, Brooklyn Twp. at a later date. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 p.m., in the funeral home.
Carol was born June 29, 1945 in Mendota to Orley and Dolores (Eddy) Daw. She married Larry Swope August 7, 1965 in Compton.
Carol was a 1963 graduate of Mendota High School. She attended Zion United Methodist Church and loved taking care of her grandchildren.
She is is survived by her husband Larry of Mendota; three daughters Deanna (Garry) Eaves, Dawn (Jim) Miers, and Carissa (Ron) Kaufman all of Mendota; one son Terry (Nicole) Swope of Mendota; four grandchildren Jessica Kaufman, Sean Kaufman, Brittney Kincaid, and Addilyn Swope; five great grandchildren; one brother Richard (Marianne) Daw of Eau Claire, WI.; and one sister Rayanne (Chris) Sester of Compton.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1964, her mother in 2015 and a brother Dennis infancy.
Memorials may be directed to Mendota Area Senior Services.
