Mr. Carol Wolf,
90, of Marseilles,
formerly of Mendota,
died Nov. 6, 2014, in
St. Elizabeth Hospital, Ottawa.
Mass of Christian burial
will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday
in Holy Cross Church,
Mendota with the Rev. Tom
Otto officiating. Burial will
be at Holy Cross Cemetery,
Mendota, with military rites
by VFW Post 4079.
Visitation will be 9:30-
10:30 a.m. Wednesday in
Merritt Funeral Home,
Mendota.
He was born Oct. 16,
1924, in McNabb to Michael
and Louise (Zellmer)
Wolf. He married Mabel
Halblieb in October 1947
in Hennepin. She preceded
him in death on April 22,
2001. He married Veronica
(Bonnie) Schwartz in October
2008.
He was a member of Holy
Cross Church, Mendota.
He graduated from John
Swaney High School in Putnam
County.
He was the office manager
for DelMonte in Mendota
for 15 years. He was
then employed by Sieg Auto
Parts and Jake's TV and
later owned and operated
Wolf's Vibrations in Mendota
from 1972 to 1989. He
served in World War II in
the U.S. Army in North Africa
and Italy. He was a 50-
year member of Elks Lodge
1212, Mendota.
He is survived by his wife;
four sons, Michael Wolf of
Orlando. Fla., Jeffery (Susie)
Wolf of Peru, Clinton Wolf
of South Beloit and Martin
Wolf of Lombard; three
daughters, Susan (Roy)
Welch of Amboy, Julia
(Michael) Wehrmeyer of
Brentwood, Tenn.. and Jennifer
Keen of Normal; 11
grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren;
two sisters,
Jean (Jesse) Greathouse of
Universal City, Texas, and
Shirley (Edward) Zanecki of
Grapevine, Texas.
He was preceded in death
by his son-in-law, Jeffery
Keen; one brother, Michael
(Gus) Wolf; two sisters;
Maybelle Morris and Irma
Towne.
