Carolyn Marie Pollard, 61, of Mendota died Aug. 4, 2013, in Mendota
Community Hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Community United Methodist
Church, LaMoille, with the Rev. Sangmyung Park officiating. Burial will be
at St. Paul's Evangelical Cemetery, LaMoille.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday in the church. Arrangements were
provided by Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.
She was born Nov. 8, 1951, in Sublette to Ralph and Florence (Grothen)
Buettner. She married Robert Pollard on July 3, 1970, in LaMoille.
She owned and operated Octave Restaurant in Mendota 1980-1992 and
was the cafeteria supervisor at Mendota High School from 1992 to the present.
She was a member of Community United Methodist Church and was
active in the Mendota High School Booster Club and Relay for Life.
Survivors are her husband; one daughter, Annie (Dave) Petri of Manitowoc,
Wis.; her mother, Florence Buettner of Mendota; three brothers, Leon (Jeri)
Buettner of Lebanon, Ronald (Wanda) Buettner of Cherry and Howard
(Robbie) Buettner of LaMoille; two sisters, Rita (Garry) Borelli of Mendota
and Mary (Mark) Russell of Cedar, Texas; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father in 2005 and one great-niece.
Memorials may be directed to Community United Methodist Church,
Mendota High School Booster Club or Relay for Life.
