Catherine Patricia "Pat"
Hanson, 92, of rural Mendota
died May 23, 2015, in
her home surrounded by
loved ones.
A Mass of Christian burial
will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday
in Sts. Peter and Paul
Church, Peterstown with
the Rev. Bo Schmitt officiating.
Burial will follow at
Troy Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m.
Wednesday with a rosary at
7:30 p.m. in Merritt Funeral
Home, Mendota.
Pat was born May 4,
1923, in Grand Ridge to
James and Laura (McGrath)
Graham. She married Philip
Hanson on Oct. 10, 1946, in
St. Joseph Catholic Church,
Marseilles. They lived their
lives together in Troy Grove
and Mendota.
Pat worked at the
Nabisco Box Co. in Marseilles
and was an active
volunteer with Sacred Heart
Church Altar Society in
Dimmick, Girl Scouts,
March of Dimes, UNICEF,
Mendota Area Christian
Food Pantry and Mendota
Crisis Center. Pat had a
great passion for raising her
family, gardening, sewing
and bird watching.
She is survived by her
husband, Philip of Mendota;
five sons, Arthur
(Lynda) Hanson of Spring
Valley, James (Candy) and
Joseph (Kristi Adair) Hanson,
both of Albuquerque,
N.M., Michael (Michelle)
Hanson of Ottawa and Paul
(Lori) Hanson of Blue
Grass, Iowa; two daughters,
Judith (Pamela Wayne)
Hanson of Boston, Mass,,
and Janet (Michael)
Widolff of West Brooklyn;
16 grandchildren, Michael,
John, Eric, Mary, Megan,
Kori, Patricia, Matthew,
Camden, Megan, Shannon,
Patrick, Amy, Andrew,
Daniel and Elizabeth; 14
great-grandchildren, Kevin,
Katelyn, Erin, Madelyn,
Hailey, Toni, Rylee, Molly,
Owen, Kennedi, Keaton,
Patrick, Violet and Bradley;
and two sisters, Anna Marie
Miller and Arlene Miller
both of Ottawa.
She was preceded by one
grandchild, Patti Lyn and
siblings, Dorothy Wentz,
James, Francis, and Arthur
Graham and Loretta Bokus.
