Catherine A. Lovgren, 54, of LaMoille died Nov. 7, 2008, following a traffic accident on U.S. 52 near Amboy. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Community United Methodist Church, LaMoille, with the Revs. Martha Wendel-Caputo and Lisa Kruse-Safford officiating. Burial will be at Greenfield Cemetery, LaMoille. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday in the church. Lundquist-Merritt Funeral Home, LaMoille, is handling the arrangements. She was born May 25, 1954, in Urbana to Dr. Russell D. and Catherine J. (McManus) Smith. She married Charles Lovgren on June 8, 1972, in LaMoille. Mrs. Lovgren was a member of Community United Methodist Church and many of its committees. She graduated from Ohio High School in 1972 and worked at Graves-Hume Public Library in Mendota as a librarian and clerk. She is survived by her husband, Charles of LaMoille; two daughters, Amanda (Brad) Fischer of LaMoille and Cindy (Robert) Martin of LaMoille; eight grandchildren; her mother, Catherine Smith of Princeton; one sister, Mary Jo (Rodney) Healey- Mills of Bettendorf, Iowa; five brothers, Mark Smith of Tampa, Fla., Jim (Nancy) Smith of Princeton, Mike (Doris) Smith of Princeton, Tim (Aggie) Smith of Princeton and Tom (Carol) Smith of Princeton. She was preceded in death by her father. Memorials may be directed to her church, American Heart Association or the food pantries in Mendota or Bureau County.
