Charlotte "Chacha" E. Pohl, 88, of Mendota passed away August 20th at Heritage Health, Mendota. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00a.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church, Mendota with the Rev. Janet Lepp officiating. Burial will be in Restland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7p.m., in the Merritt Funeral Home.
Charlotte was born July 21, 1927 in West Brooklyn, Il. to George and Martha (Miller) Zinke.
She was a switch board operator in West Brooklyn for several years and started Sip N' Snack restaurant in Mendota in 1972 and owned and operated it until she retired.
She enjoyed bowling, fishing, playing cards and working with the public. She was an avid Chicago White Sox fan.
She graduated from Lee Center High School in 1945. She was a member of Mendota Elks Lodge 1212, Mendota Golf Course, and St. John's Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her daughter Deb (Ed) Jasper of Mendota; son Craig Pohl of Mendota; two grandchildren Bri Pohl and Travis Jasper.
She was preceded in death by two brothers Alton "Hap" Zinke and Robert Zinke.
Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established at Mendota Elks Lodge.
