Cheryl "Chick" Becker, 71, of Mendota died Dec. 26, 2016, in OSF St. Paul Medical Center, Mendota.

A private family memorial service will be at Christ's Church, Mendota. Burial of ashes will take place at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Merritt Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

She was born April 29, 1945, in Spring Valley to Delbert and Ethel (Perkins) Martin. She married Richard Becker on Sept. 30, 1967.

She was employed by Casey's General Store in Mendota for 23 years before her retirement. "Chick" enjoyed planting flowers, shopping and spending time with her grandkids and laughing with the many friends she made while working at Casey's. She also loved traveling to Florida to spend time with her sisters.

She is survived by one daughter, Catherine (John) McDowell of Mendota; four grandchildren, Eve, Hope, Calvin and Cody; one great-grandchild, Caden; one brother, Donald (Dee) Martin of Belvidere; two sisters, Marian (Dick) Steep of Ottawa and Jean (Ike) Plym of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a son, Tony.
