Christine L. Elston, 52, of 400 11th Ave., Mendota died March 1, 2008, in St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Tonica United Methodist Church with the Rev. Danira Parra officiating. Cremation will take place. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. Mrs. Elston was born June 24, 1955, in Spring Valley to Max and Doris (Rittenhouse) Ryan. She married Mark Elston on May 28, 1977, in Tonica. She was the postmaster in Triumph for 25 years and past president of Mendota Grade School board. She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Amanda Elston of Chicago; two sons, Aaron (Heather) Elston of Sublette and Jeremy (Bethany) Elston of Chicago; four grandchildren; her mother of Tonica; one brother, Michael (Becky) Ryan of Peru; and three sisters, Kathy Ryan of Tonica, Peggy (Roger) Ryan-Cleland of Evanston and Patty (Frank) Ross of Ireland. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother. Memorials may be directed to the family.
