Charles W. Needs II, better known as Chuck to friends and family, 72, of Mendota, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2023 in his home surrounded by his family after a long battle with several illnesses.
Visitation will be Monday, January 9, 2023 from 5-7 p.m. in the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Father Peter Pilon officiating. Mendota VFW Post 4079 will play taps and have a flag presentation at the start of the funeral. Cremation rites will be accorded after the funeral and private burial will be at a later date. Everyone is encouraged to wear anything Harley Davidson.
Chuck was born September 15, 1950 in Shelby, Ohio to Charles and Josephine (Zerbo) Needs.
He was a 1969 graduate of Paw Paw High School. He served in the United States Army and was a Veteran of the Vietnam war from 1969-1971. He worked for Motor Wheel and Sundstrand. Chuck enjoyed spending time with family and loved his grandchildren dearly. His hobbies included motorcycles, cars and antiques.
He is survived by his children Chad Needs, Gary Needs and Brandy (Trinidad Lemos) Needs; his life partner Leah Schuler; his grandchildren Sylvester Lemos and Santiago Lemos; his siblings George (Nellie) Needs, Marge (Bart) Rhodes, Joseph (Barb) Needs, Carol (Tony) Holm, Jannette Needs and Don Thompson and Gordon Needs; his beloved dog Harley and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Charles Needs III, his sisters Maryellen Needs and Charlene Needs and his brother David Needs.
