Lucinda "Cindy" McElderry, 56, of Earlville died Dec. 8, 2015, in her residence.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Pastor David Zapf officiating. Memorial visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
She was born April 18, 1959, in Chillicothe, Mo., to William and Lena (Fulton) Sanson. She married Mark McElderry on Oct. 26, 1979, in Colorado Springs, Colo. She graduated from Peniel Christian School in Spring Valley, Wis. and earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs.
She was the owner of a local dog grooming and boarding business which continues to operate today as Grooming by Cindy.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Chad (Gi) McElderry of Madison, Wis., and Bruce (Yan) McElderry of Columbus, Ohio; one granddaughter, Aria; her mother, Lena Sanson of Dodge Center, Minn.; one brother; William "Bud" (Lori) Sanson of Dodge Center; four sisters, Rhonda (Patrick) McNeilus of Dodge Center, Pam (Patrick) Williamson of Rochester, Minn., Stella (Bob) Boltz of Belfield, N.D., and Teresa (David) Hess of Bonita Springs, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her father.
