Clara L. Otey, 85, of Mendota and formerly of Franklin Grove died December 28, 2017 in Heritage Health, Mendota.

There will be no services for her. The Merritt Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Clara was born February 15, 1932 in Compton to Earl and Alice (Masters) Bettner.

She was employed for many years in the restaurant business and also owned Clara's Country Cafe at the junction of routes 51 and 30 north of Compton. She was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels.

She is survived by three sons; David Rex, Michael Rex and William Otey; one daughter, Alice Otey.; 2 grandchildren; one brother Wayne and one sister Dorothy.

She was preceded by her parents.
