Clifford W. Brown, 70, of Mendota died Sept. 12, 2009. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, with the Rev. Michael Morrell officiating. Burial will be at Troy Grove Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Mr. Brown was born June 20, 1939, in Arlington to Orville and Mildred (Wilkens) Brown. He married Karen Carlson on July 23, 1977, in Mendota. He worked for Hart Carter (HCC) as a tool and die maker and also worked for Stockdale Fertilizer in Van Orin, Mendota Ag Builders and Brock Industries in Indiana, from which he retired in December 2002. He also farmed in theLaMoille area. He is survived by his wife; three sons, Keith Brown of Princeton, James Brown of Las Vegas, Nev., and Cory Brown of Marseilles; five daughters, Barb (Jim) Whitfield of Wyanet, Lorry Estrada of Princeton, Valerie (Mike) Haines of Mendota, Michelle (Mike) Price of Cartersville and Tammy (Shawn) Griffin of Malden; 20 grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; one sister, Della (William) Hamburg of Mendota; and his devoted dog, Zeus. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and five sisters. Memorials may be directed to the donor's choice.
