Crystal L. Alexander, 86, of Mendota died July 16, 2011, in Rockford Memorial Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, with the Revs. Tim Kaiser and Ken Foster officiating. Burial will be at Elm Lawn Cemetery, Princeton. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. She was born Sept. 16, 1924, in LaMoille to Otto and Bessie (Hicks) Schultz. She married Melvin Alexander on Jan. 9, 1954, in LaMoille. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Mendota. She is survived by three brothers, Clarence Schultz of Mendota, Garney (Doris) Schultz of Cherry and Ralph (Lolla) Schultz of Compton; one brother-in-law, Harold Stewart of Mendota; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, Irene Stewart and Ruth Haefner; and three brothers, Claude, Harry and Frank Schultz. Memorials my be directed to American Heart Association.
