Dale Denault, 91, of Mendota, passed away October 13, 2021 at OSF St. Paul Medical Center, Mendota.

Funeral services will be Monday, October 18, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Rev. Larry Sheaves officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery, Mendota with military honors by Mendota VFW Post 4079. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until time of services.

Dale was born June 15, 1930 in Mendota to Harold and Effie (Runyon) Denault. He married Ava Williams May 26, 1950 at the First United Methodist Church, Mendota.

Dale was a 1948 graduate of Mendota High School. He served in the United States Army. He worked for Mendota Farm Supply for 25 years and was a part time police officer in Mendota for many years. He and Roger Sheridan started the Mendota Ambulance Service and served as assistant director for 20 years. Dale was a member of the American Legion and First United Methodist Church where he served on numerous boards. He enjoyed raising tropical fish, tending to his garden and traveling. He loved his family more than anything.

He is survived by his wife Ava of Mendota; daughter Kathy (Don) Borelli of Myrtle Beach, SC.; two sons Jerry (Diane) Denault of Mendota and Ron (Ruth) Denault of Princeton; sister Patricia Kossert of Aurora; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and a great great grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother LaVerne Denault and a granddaughter Courtney Denault.
