Daniel J. "Dan" Truckenbrod,
53, of Plum City, Wis.,
died Aug. 18, 2014, in Mayo
Clinic Health Systems-Eau
Claire, Wis., with his wife and
family by his side.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30
a.m. Saturday in Holy Cross
Catholic Church, Mendota,
with the Rev. Bo Schmitt
officiating. Burial will be at
Holy Cross
Cemetery,
Mendota.
Visitation
is 4-8 p.m.
Friday at

Dan was born Oct. 25, 1960,
in Mendota. He was the son of
Curt and Peg (Booth) Truckenbrod.
Dan grew up in Mendota
and graduated from Mendota
High School in 1979. During
and after high school, Dan
worked at his parents' grocery
store, Mendota Food Center,
as a meat cutter. In 1996, Dan
moved to Hayward, Wis.,
where he managed Big Muskie
Resort in the Chippewa Flowage
for several years. Dan then
went on to work as manager
for Wal-Mart at various locations
before retiring from the
Red Wing, Minn., Wal-Mart in
2013. Dan met the love of his
life, Donna Anderson in 2010
and they were married on Aug.
14, 2011, in Red Wing, Minn.
Dan was an avid fisherman;
he especially liked taking trips
with his father and brothers
to Canada. He was a sports
enthusiast. Dan was a die-hard
Chicago Bears fan and coming
from a family of Chicago Cubs
fans, he was a St. Louis Cardinal
fan. Dan loved spending
time with his dog, Sammie.
Dan was a family man and he
treated all of his nieces and
nephews like they were his
own children.
Dan is survived by his wife,
Donna; two stepsons, Nick
Anderson of Eau Claire and
Brad (Ashley) Anderson of
Woodbury, Minn.; his mother,
Peg Truckenbrod of Mendota;
five brothers, Dave (Dawn)
and Dick (fiancé Mary Jansen),
both of Omaha, Neb.,
Doug of Seabrooke, Texas,
Don (Peggy) of Omaha and
Dennis (Laura) of Mendota;
one sister, Amy (Marvin)
Jackson of Naperville; nieces
and nephews, Jason (Justine),
Aaron (Jenna), Amber, Tiffany
(Tony), Danielle, Scott,
Miles, Chelsi, Ashley, Rachel,
Andrew, Megan, Kyle and
Maddie; eight great-nieces and
great-nephews, other relatives
and friends.
He is preceded in death by
his father, Curt. Memorials my be directed to the family.
