David Scott Erbes, aged 60, of Mendota, passed away suddenly, after a brief illness on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Il. He was employed at Sullivan's Food of Mendota in the deli department for many years.

David was the son of Edward and Beverly (Williamson) Erbes, born on December 3, 1963 in Mendota.

He grew up on a farm in Sublette and graduated from Amboy High School. David served in the United States Army for 9 years in Germany, Saudi Arabia and parts of Central America. While in the Army he married Tracy McClung. They had 3 sons Marshall Erbes and Kenton Erbes of Mendota and Harrison (Madisin) Erbes of Bellevue, Nebraska, who survive him.

David is also survived by his father Edward Erbes and siblings Doreen (Robert) Boyle and Dean (Tammie) Erbes of Amboy, Douglas (Lori) Erbes and Donald Erbes of Sublette; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and a great great niece.

He was preceded in death by his wife Tracy and mother Beverly and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
