Obituary

David A. Hanson, 55, of
Waltham Township died June 3,
2013, in his residence.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in
Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, with the
Rev. Howard Smith officiating. Burial will
be at St. Mary's Cemetery, West Brooklyn
with military rites by VFW Post 4079.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Thursday in the
funeral home.
Mr. Hanson was born Oct. 11, 1957,
in Mendota to Wilbur and Jean (Gittens)
Hanson. He graduated Mendota High
School in 1975. He served with the U.S.
Army.
He was employed by Barber-Greene in
DeKalb as a welder.
He is survived by two sisters, Sue
(Chuck) Schoenholz and Kathy (James)
Mackin, both of Mendota; six brothers,
Ed (Kathy) Hanson of Compton, Wilbur
(Sandy) Hanson of Mendota, Steve
(Virginia) Hanson of Union, Joe (Laura)
Hanson of Mendota, Jerry (Sally) Hanson
of Compton and Don (Carla) Hanson of
DeKalb; one sister-in-law, Cynthia Hanson
of Amboy; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents
and one brother, Chuck.
Memorials may be directed to Waltham
Presbyterian Church or the donor's choice.
