Delores Brandt, 81, of Mendota Lutheran Home died March 31, 2014, in the home. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with the Rev. Tom Otto offi ciating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation is one hour prior to ser vices Saturday at the funeral home. She was born May 22, 1932, in Mendota to Martin L. and Elizabeth C. (Kratz) Spitz. She married Richard Brandt on April 26, 1958, in Holy Cross Church, Mendota. She was a member of Holy Cross Church. She is survived by her husband, Richard of Mendota; two sons, Rick (Linda) Brandt of Mendota and Ed Brandt of Mendota; three grandchildren, Tiffanie Gottschalk, Jon (Megan) Brandt and Cris Brandt; four great-grandchildren, Erin and Malyia Gottschalk and Taylor and Landon Brandt; four sisters, Catherine (Paul) Taylor of Mendota, Carlene (Roland) Schuhler and Florence (Charles) Kuebel, both of Sublette, and Rita (Dave) Jones of Mendota; and two brothers, Delbert Spitz of Mendota and Martin (Donna) Spitz of Granville. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Memorials may be directed to Illinois Valley Hospice or Mendota Lutheran Home.
