Dennis L. Sears, 74, of Mendota, passed away January 27, 2024 at OSF St. Paul Medical Center.

Dennis was born on September 17, 1949 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Roy and Betty (Lemons) Sears.

He later moved to Illinois where he eventually met the love of his life Betty Miller and they married on December 8, 1969.

Dennis loved the outdoors and his favorite place to visit was Boulder Junction, Wisconsin. He was an avid fisherman and everyone who knew Dennis knew of his great love for fishing. He loved cooking for his family also. He cherished time with his family.

Dennis is survived by his daughter Shannon (Jeff) Morey of Mendota; his grandchildren Keely (Kyle Harkins) Morey of Peru and Jeremy (Stephanie) Morey of Mendota.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Betty in 2020.

Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no visitation or services. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota is assisting the family.
