Donald Jacob Croisant, 84, of LaSalle, passed away on September 19, 2022, at St. Margaret's Health, Peru.

Private family only funeral services will be Friday, September 23, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota, with Minister Joel Stevenor officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Troy Grove Presbyterian Cemetery following the service.

Donald was born in Mendota on December 18, 1937 to Jacob and Fern (Klinefelter) Croisant. He married Leila May Crane on September 29, 1963 at Troy Grove Presbyterian Church. They have enjoyed 59 years of marriage.

Donald is survived by his wife Leila, his children, Dennis (Tuesday) of Hennepin and Bruce of Chillicothe. Grandchildren are Stevie (Nicholas) Thieme of Bozeman, Montana, and Dylan of Hennepin.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jacob and Fern and his siblings Darwin, Evelyn Baker, and Leroy.

Donald was a graduate of LP High School. He was a member of Waltham Presbyterian Church, faithfully sang in the church's choir, and attended Sunday service. Together, Donald and Leila raised their two sons while tending their farm near Dimmick for many years until they retired in 2007. Donald served in the Illinois Army National Guard as an Infantryman. Donald had a deep passion for music and could play nearly any instrument that fell into his hands. He also loved woodworking, aviation, and joyfully spending countless hours in conversation with his family. His calm demeanor, kind eyes, and gentle heart will be dearly missed.
