17th St., Mendota died July 2,
2007, in Mendota Community
Hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m.
Thursday in Merritt Funeral
Home with cremation rites
accorded after the service. A
private burial at Restland
Cemetery will be at a later date.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m.
Wednesday in the funeral
home.
Mr. Mahar was born June 7,
1926, in Mendota to Daniel and
Ella (Gillette) Mahar. He married
Ella (Bayne) Shannon on
Oct. 8, 1948, in Mendota.
He served as Seaman 1st
Class with the U.S. Navy in the
Pacific Theater of Operations
during World War II. He
worked at H.D. Hume Co., Hart
Carter and retired from
Woodhaven Lakes in 1988.
He is survived by his wife,
Ella of Mendota; two sons,
Barry (Stephanie) Mahar of
Mendota and Jeff (Christi)
Mahar of Safety Harbor, Fla.;
four grandchildren; and one sister,
Wanda Boyle of Mendota.
He was preceded in death by
one son, Breck in 1976, four
sisters and four brothers.
