Donald A. Miller, 74, of Mendota, died Sunday, February 5, 2017, in his home.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9, at Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Pastor Isaac Escobar officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mendota with military rites by Mendota VFW Post 4079. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at Merritt Funeral Home.

Born Dec. 2, 1942, in Mendota, Mr. Miller was the son of Albert and Crystal (Spears) Miller. He married Mary K. Lipke on Aug. 15, 1970, at Holy Cross Church in Mendota.

He graduated from Mendota High School in 1961.

Mr. Miller served as a Specialist E5 in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the 1 ^st Calvary Air Mobile Division, serving in Vietnam from 1965-1966.

Mr. Miller retired in 2003 from Complete Industrial in Peru, where he worked as a sales representative for 21 years. He also worked at HCC, Inc. and A & B Auto Company.

He was a member of Mendota VFW Post 4079, Browning Collectors Association, Ohio Gun Collectors Association and LaMoille Methodist Church.

Survivors include one son, Griffin (Kim) Miller of Mendota; one daughter, Lindsay (Jeff) Hilty of Cummings, Georgia; three granddaughters, Mea Miller and Eva and Alexis Hilty; one brother, Bruce (Shirley) Miller of LaMoille, one half-sister, Elaine (Floyd) Setchell of Mendota, one sister-in-law, Ann (Jerry) Yendro of Peru; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mr. Miller's name may be directed to Mendota VFW Post 4079 or Mendota Area Senior Services.

Pallbearers will be Griffin Miller, Jeff Hilty, Mark Miller, Norb Didier, Dan Yendro and Todd Yendro. Honorary pallbearers will be Lindsay Hilty, Kim Miller and Kim Didier.
